Patio Installation and Paver Work in Hackettstown, NJ
Outdoor living space built on a base that can handle NJ winters.
A patio changes how you use your backyard. Instead of dragging chairs onto the grass and watching them sink after every rain, you have a level, clean surface for grilling, eating, entertaining, or just sitting outside with a cup of coffee. Done right, a paver or concrete patio adds real value to your home and lasts for decades.

When to Invest in a New Patio
Old concrete slabs that have cracked, sunk, or shifted are the most common reason homeowners call us. Concrete poured without proper base work fails fast in New Jersey. Once a crack starts, water gets in, freezes, and the damage accelerates every winter.
Some homeowners do not have any outdoor living space at all. Just grass and maybe a grill sitting on a few paver blocks. Others inherited a small builder-grade slab that is too small to actually use for anything. Expanding or replacing an undersized patio is one of the best investments you can make in your property.
If you already have pavers but they have settled, shifted, or have weeds growing through every joint, the fix might be a re-level and re-sand rather than a full replacement. Angel can assess what is needed on site.
Our Patio Installation Process
The base is everything. We excavate to a minimum of 8 inches, sometimes deeper depending on soil conditions. Compacted gravel goes in layers with each layer tamped before the next one goes on top. This is the step that separates a patio that lasts from one that cracks after two winters.
Edge restraint goes in around the perimeter to keep pavers from migrating outward over time. The pavers get set on a screeded sand bed with consistent joint spacing. Polymeric sand fills the joints to lock everything in place and prevent weed growth. Optional sealing adds protection and enhances the color.
Material choices include concrete pavers, natural stone, bluestone, and travertine. Each has a different look, price point, and maintenance profile. Angel will walk through the options with you and recommend what works best for your property, your usage, and your budget.
You can power wash your existing patio before deciding if replacement is necessary. Sometimes a good cleaning is all an older patio needs.

Patio Cost in Hackettstown, NJ
Size is the biggest factor. A 200 square foot patio costs significantly less than a 600 square foot project with curves, borders, and multi-level transitions. Material choice matters too. Concrete pavers are the most popular option for balancing cost and appearance. Natural stone costs more but has a look that is hard to replicate.

Why A&G Builds Patios That Last
Proper base depth, proper compaction, and proper drainage. Those three things determine whether your patio still looks level and clean in year ten or whether it turns into a cracked, sunken mess. Angel has built hundreds of patios across Warren and Morris County and he does not cut corners on any of them.
